I'm 45 years YOUNG and have been involved with fitness and exercise throughout my life. I joined the US Army Reserves in 1989 and became a Drill SGT for five years. I found the training for the military challenging and enjoyable and even though I am no longer in military service, I incorporate certain aspects of the learned discipline into my life. I was heavily into weightligting (bodybuilding) in high school and have cycled through different programs throughout the last few years. I have accumulated a "decent" home gym in the process. Several months ago I changed my focus from exclusively weightlifting to a more "functional" approach with plyometrics etc, thorough a program called The Alpha Male Challenge. I cycled through most of the way, and have since been looking toward differnt challenges to include the speed, coordination and furthering my functional strength and abilities through boxing. I invested in a heavy bag, speed bag, and double end bag to my equipment. My motivation is high, but a lack of structured approach to learning boxing has me floundering and free-falling from my fitness goals. My goal is to make full use of the opportunities that exist here on How To Box to improve my fitness and my boxing skills. The linear properties of HTB are the gauze that I have been trying to wrap my hands with! BA
