 Great, but with one significant flaw July 19, 2010

This is the perfect little "round timer" that I had been looking for for a long time. You can set the length of a round as well as the rest period in between. You can also determine whether it beeps for 10 seconds, five seconds, or one second (the one second beep is perfect as a "bell" to signify the end/start of rounds).
The only gripe that I have-- and it seems like a no-brainer-- is that the round counter on this device starts at "0" instead of "1". So every time you glance at your total round count, it shows you one less than the number of rounds you've actually completed. Too bad, because this thing would be near perfect other than that. Come on, Gym Boss-- everyone knows that rounds start at 1, not zero!

I bought this when I was starting to train for a 5K. It's worked extremely well. It's been dropped, rained on (lots), sweated on (lots), and still works. The clip is very strong and stays put. The functions are very limited, as one would expect from a relatively inexpensive device. Also, the usability is fairly poor. When I want to change from interval timer to stop watch, I usually have to get out the directions. What it really needs are a few more buttons (all kidding aside), so you don't have so much overloading. For example, to turn it on and off you use the "Next" button (holding down three seconds). To pause, you hit the start button three times within two seconds. Overall, however, it's a successful purchase.

I found the Gym Boss to be exactly what I needed. It does everything as advertised. I do find the process of adjusting the settings to be a little more time consuming than I'd like just because there are a lot of options to toggle through. However this is the only minor fault I found with it, and I'm getting more and more comfortable with it every time I use it.
Overall great product, and I'm very happy with it. It seems to be made very well and I expect it to be quite durable.
