4 out of 5 stars A beginner's review   June 15, 2010

I am no expert. I just use the wraps for hitting a heavy bag at the gym. I am not a boxer, just someone who likes the cardio and therapeutic effect of hitting the bag. The wraps work as advertised. I was tearing my knuckles up, hitting the bag barehanded. My girlfriend bought me some gloves, but those tore my hands up too. The wraps worked the best. The only negative is that I have no idea how to wrap correctly. I know I can google it, but instructions would have been nice. I can't compare this to any other wrap, but a friend of mine tried them and said he liked the slight elasticity (apparently other wraps don't have the same feature). Buy these if you are in the market for wraps...you won't regret. Oh...one last thing...they are pretty long.

I don't have any experience with other brands to compare with, but when I received these I was a bit disappointed with the stitching at the thumb end. We'll see how it holds up.

5 out of 5 stars Best Handwrap for Boxing and Boxing Classes   December 12, 2009

For boxing, real training or boxing classes in a gym, you will need a good set of handwraps. They keep your fingers aligned, support your wrists, and keep you your skin padded from abrasion. If you wear boxing gloves they are must; punching a heavy bag without handwraps (with or without gloves) for more than about 10-15 minutes will take all of the skin off of your knuckles. Not only is it unpleasant, leaving a stinging, raw feeling on your knuckles for a week or more, you will not be able to box again until your hands heal up.

Almost all of the major "boxing" brands make wraps. I have tried several, and would say that on average most wraps would rate three stars, as they are either short, made of rough material, or don't stretch the appropriate amount. A trainer recommended these.

These wraps:

* are longer than most (a plus)
* have a good balance of material - not to thick / not to gauzy
* stretch the right amount

Two notes: (1) because the price is fairly low, would recommend two pairs so that you can alternate pairs and let one dry out and (2) recommend hand washing in a sink rather than putting in a washing machine, otherwise you will get back a big knotted mess. A garment bag might be an alternative, but have not tried it.

If you need wraps, highly recommend.

Hope this review helps.

5 out of 5 stars Best "real" hand wraps   October 24, 2008

I've tried several brands of hand wraps - Everlast are too short and made from cheap thin fabric that warps easily. Century makes wraps that are okay for the price but too short for most adults. These are by FAR the best - the elastic ones are great, they support really well and do not warp. I am not a serious wall-punching athlete but if you're going to spend any money on wraps, get these, spending any less on another brand would be a waste.

I found a pair of these at a fight in california. They are longer, more stretchy and form fitting than any other wrap. I have used all kinds, these protect and support the best.
