Rocky III: The third installment in the Rocky saga is the last one to matter, and in this case only marginally. The now rich and famous Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) triumphantly pummels a succession of boxing challengers until he encounters Clubber Lang (Mr. T), a human wall of brick who wants a piece of Rocky's action. The Rock's loyal trainer Mickey (Burgess Meredith) has taken ill and dies, so Rocky recruits retired opponent Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) to whip him into fighting shape after his embarrassing defeat to Clubber. Time for another rematch, mixed in with some family matters involving Rocky's brother-in-law Paulie (Burt Young), who's feeling neglected amid all the hoopla. Not bad as sequels go, boosted by Mr. T.'s taunting presence and yet another rousing finale. For those with a bad case of '80s nostalgia, the hit theme song "Eye of the Tiger" is sure to bring back memories. --Jeff Shannon

1982 Was a good year,Rocky III you have Rocky return and this time he has got a new ally,you also Have Mr.T in this one and Hulk Hogan!Movie is great for inspiration,and the music is good.

Acting, writing, directing, this is the best of the Rocky movies. We get to see Rock as a human being. He loses the one person he feels always believed in him. He doesn't know how to react; what to do. The scene with Adrian on the beach is probably the defining moment of the movie. It is one of the rare movies that gets me misty eyed when I watch it. How do you not love this movie? The first two movies are great, but this is a step above the first two. If you liked the first two, sit down and watch this. It is the best of the six.

The sheer level of stunt casting, preposterous dialogue and the hideousness of Clubber Lang as a character make this my least favorite "Rocky" film to watch--and there's really nothing to suggest to me that it's cinematically superior enough to make up for these faults. It's like a bad, early-'80s comic book where in order to make the hero seem larger than life, the villain has to be a ridiculous charicature of a human being. Mr. T is alright in the role--doing his best with what he has to work with--but the moments of forced sentiment set into motion by killing off Mick are done better in the fourth film, and Lang falls short in one of the important categories of being a villain: The best villains are guys you love to hate. With Clubber Lang, I just wanted him off the screen.

You know why I love the Rocky movies? Honestly? It's because you *really* get into the fight scenes. They get your adrenaline rushing. You treat the bouts like they are the real thing, and happening live on your television. That's definitely the number one reason I originally fell in love with the Rocky series.
Another reason is the splendid build-up concerning Rocky's character. You *want* him to prevail with a victory because you watch him train and workout hard -each and every day- for the final showdown with his opponent.
What makes the third Rocky film stand out in my mind is the fact that his opponent is none other than Mr. T! He plays a VERY convincing bad guy, with a really mean attitude, and shows exactly what he's made of in the ring.
Rocky finds out the hard way what happens when you mess with Mr. T (going under the boxing name of Clubber Lang).
There's a ton of emotion with this film, which easily separates the emotional impact compared to the previous Rocky films. Now more than *ever* before you want Rocky to win the final match against an opponent who's easily much bigger and badder than he is.
Will Rocky win? Is Rocky's spirit *really* into winning this big match-up or has becoming champion made him lose his edge? Watch and find out.

This is such a good movie!! I love all the Rocky films!:) Mr. T is really, really tough in this movie, even kind of scary.
