Hi this is quite an important

Hi this is quite an important question, I'm finding a lot of conflicting evidence so I'm asking around as much as possible to try and find the answer.

I used to have bad posture but through a lot of hard work and determination I have managed to pretty much correct it to the point where I feel happy.

I have invested in a very good technique bag ( reebok freestanding bag) ... The reason I bought it was because I wanted to spend endless hours per week punching and kicking the crap out of it to stay in shape....

My concern now is will punching the bag lead to forward head posture and rounded shoulders again? A lot of people on the Internet seem to think so.... This would be so annoying if this is the case because I really love the idea of training on a bag in the comfort of my own home.

Your professional opinion would be much appreciated along with any recommendations.

Not Sure

Not sure how much help I can offer you here. I've never heard of boxing creating any posture issues. I suppose it is possible if you're in a guard position for the majority of the day, but I can't see it happening strictly from an hour or two's training session. Even in those sessions, you'd never be in a guard for more than a few minutes at a time.

If you're pre-disposed to it, then maybe you might have an issue, but for the majority of people, I do not believe boxing will contribute to this. Again, I'm not a doctor, but I can say I've never seen it (or experienced an issue myself).

I'd say you're alright to hit the bag - just don't walk around in a guard position all day...Hope that helps.
