Day 9 Recap

Today was a good day. Getting accustomed to an early AM Workout, eating schedule (6 small meals), making sure to drink plenty of water and so on.

I'm very encouraged by Sean finishing the program with the great results he had and with Aaron's 23K run - Wow!!!! I so appreciate the others who have offered words of encouragement throughout this program - thank you!

I'm finally understanding how important food & nutrition are to this. This never really clicked with me before I guess because I live with and cook for someone who can eat anything she wants (literally) and never gains a pound. She is in good shape and has a physically active job (lot of walking). I always contributed her ability to eat a high volume and probably not the most nutritious of foods to her increased activity.

I mention this now because with injuring my knee and having to make modifications to the training the meal plan was the one thing that was either going to make this program successful or tank it for me. I don't know what the final numbers (measurements or weight) or pics will show but I know it has worked. I'm wearing pants - clothes that a week ago I couldn't fit into and I feel so much better. I have mentioned in previous posts the times I've messed up with the meals but I have really stuck to it other than that and know the fat has been coming off.

It has been a challenge of having to cook for someone who isn't eating the meals and foods you are. I have found a few ways around that - I'll talk about at a later time.

I'm looking forward to Day 10 with excitment, and a bit of nervousness too. I'll need to make a final decision to repeat he 10 Day Program or the 12 Week Program. I'm leaning more toward the 12 Week program - it may be a better more balanced choice for me. I know that at some point in those 3 months - I'll be having a major surgery that will bring such training to a screeching halt for a while. The one thing I do know is that I do not want to stop the momentum that has been started in these last 10 days.
