3 Step Boxing System Review

So I completed the 10 Day, 3 Step System last week. Overall, I have to say that I am very impressed. I've been an athlete all of my life, and have been very active in combat sports for the past 20 years and I found the program very challenging and rewarding.

The best part for me personally was the emphasis placed on cardio. For most of my athletic past since leaving college, I've only done cardio via whatever training I was doing. In other words, there's a lot of cardio building done through jiu jitsu and kickboxing sparring sessions, but I never did separate cardio training. The added high intensity interval training as well as the normal road work was very beneficial to me. This is an area of the program that I will continue to work into my normal workout schedule.

I do bag work and shadow boxing on a regular basis as part of my workout routine. I had fallen into a pretty stale workout program, so having a new routine (although very basic) was refreshing for me. Going back to the basics for a while surely allowed me to work on fundamentals that certainly could use some sharpening.

What would I add to the program? I would consider adding more advanced boxing skills to the program for those people who have some sort of background in boxing. I also missed my regular strength training that I normally do, so perhaps adding a little more of that to the program would be a good idea. Then again, I can't argue with the results that I achieved.

I only lost 9.5 lbs out of my target of 10 lbs. But, I know where I went wrong - diet. My life long sweet tooth got the better of me on a few occasions, and I'm sure that I would have reached the goal of losing 10 lbs if I hadn't slipped.
